Datura stramonium - aka Devil’s Trumpet. This alluring shrub-like annual caught the eye of nearly everyone who visited the gardens last year. The white spiral trumpet flowers open in the evening, and by morning they have mostly closed back up. Following the blossoms, grow spiky seed pods. The pods are fascinating additions to dried arrangements, and they remain on the stalks in the garden for months, for late fall visual interest. 50+ seeds

Word of caution: all parts of this plant are poisonous, so keep in mind around kids and pets. Luckily, everything about them is very unappealing to eat.
