Myrrhis odorata – Grows up to 3' with aromatic fern-like leaves and white flowers. The roots are sweet and can be used as a vegetable. Flowers and leaves for tea or salad or to sweeten desserts. The seeds are eaten like candy. Digestive ally. Seeds require cold/moist stratification before sowing. They prefer to grow in rich moist soil, full sun to part shade. Perennial; once established they'll grow for many years.  20+ seeds

Growing Info
Stratification 60 days cold/moist treatment. Mix seeds with damp substrate (fine sand or vermiculite) and keep in the fridge. Alternatively, can be direct sown in fall
Sowing After stratification, sow seeds indoors mid-spring (I plant mine early April)
Transplant outdoors After the risk of frost
Spacing 18-24" between plants
Soil requirements Moist soil is ideal, as long as it's well drained (no standing water). But they're adapted to a range of soil types, typical garden soil is fine
Harvest Leaves, stems and seeds can be picked throughout the growing season. Flowers usually begin their 2nd year
