Relative of lambs quarters. The tender greens and shoots are mostly eaten cooked. Hardy to zone 4. Germinates at very low temperatures. Seeds can be sown shallowly in trays and placed in the fridge to germinate. Or direct sown very early spring soon after the snow melts. Prefers full sun to dappled shade. They grow well in the understory of deciduous trees (their native habitat) taking advantage of early spring sunlight. 40+ seeds
