Gete-okosomin Squash

C. maxima - This rare and special squash has been grown for hundreds (likely thousands) of year by the Miami Nation, who’s territory include present day Indiana and parts of Michigan and Ohio. Beautiful orange fruit, up to 3’ long, produced in great abundance on rampant vines. Sweet orange flesh and fine texture. Delicious roasted, and they make great pies and soups. The skins are distinctly tender, so no need to peel them. The name means “really cool old squash” in Anishinaabe. 15 seeds
