Hayayuki Rice

Early maturing short grain variety from Hokkaido. Considered a lowland rice (preferring paddy cultivation), however they grow fine for us in regular garden conditions alongside our eggplant and bush beans. From an early June transplant date we harvest around the end of September. I find the grains fall off their heads quite easily, which means threshing was easier although we likely lost a little bit in the field. 40+ seeds
