Welsh Triticale

Triticale is a stable hybrid between wheat and rye, combining the hardiness of rye with the grain qualities of wheat. Often our highest yielding cereal grain, producing plump silvery heads of hulless kernels. This variety dates back to 1978, named for Dr. John Welsh of the University of Manitoba, who has among the first researchers to cross-pollinate wheat and rye in the 1950s. 100+ seeds
