Huge single heads on top of mammoth stalks, the biggest specimens in our sunflower forest were 12 feet tall with heads as big as garbage can lids. The large striped seeds are good people food or bird food. The largest sunflower we currently grow. 50 seeds (4 g)

Sowing I like to start our sunflowers indoors in late April, about 4-6 weeks before the last frost. Direct sowing after the risk of frost also works well.
Transplant Outside after the risk of frost. For us that's early June
