New for 2025 - Reseda lueola - aka Dyer's Rocket, Dyer's Weed - Source of bright yellow dye. Weld was the primary source of yellow dye from ancient times right up until the 1800s, when cheaper synthetic yellows emerged. Robin Hood's green tunic was dyed from a mix of yellow Weld and blue Woad! Hardy and carefree biennial. First year plants form a rosette of slender green leaves. In their second year they send up 5-6' tall flower stalks, with many tiny flowers. They aren't showy in the classic sense, but they have a certain beauty to them, especially growing en masse. For dye, the flower stalks are the part usually harvested. A small percentage of plants will bloom their first year. Native to Eurasia. 300+ seeds

Grown by Annapolis Seeds
