Camelina

Camelina sativa - An ancient oilseed from northern Europe, very well suited to growing in the Maritimes. Extremely easy to grow, they can be direct seeded into the poorest soil and still thrive. Like flax, the oil is rich in Omega 3, however camelina seems better-suited to cultivating in the moist and humid Maritimes. This is definitely a plant I want to experiment with more in future years!
