Basket Flower (Centaurea americana)

New for 2024 - Centaurea americana - Annual wildflower native to the prairies of south/central US. Long pink petals emerge from geometrically woven ‘baskets’. 3-4 foot tall bushy plants. Blooms continue throughout summer and into early fall. Native bees (of which there are many species) seem particularly fond of these flowers. Very easy to grow, they aren't picky about soil and are quite drought tolerant. 30+ seeds
