Nova Scotia Native Species
All these species are native to Nova Scotia and Atlantic Canada. We're planning to expand this list over the coming years, as our gardens expand and more plantings come to maturity.
You'll notice with a number of varieties we use the term NS-Ecotype. By that we mean that those varieties are of wild Nova Scotia genetics, either (carefully) wild harvested or cultivated from wild stock. This is important in wild plant restoration work, where it's good practice to source seeds from local plant populations when possible. Not to limit where they'll grow, they'll certainly do well in other places too!
