New for 2024 - Carpesium macrocephalumDa-hua-jin-wa-er - Unique and delightfully weird perennial member of the sunflower family (Asterceae). Large soft green leaves and droopy pendulous flowers. Instead of petals the flower disks are surrounded by geometric green bracts (modified leaves). The seeds themselves have a beautiful aroma, and a unique oily/resinous quality. Used in traditional Chinese medicine. These plants enjoy moist soil and partial shade. Said to be hardy to zone 5 (they survived our -30c polar vortex of Feb. 2023 just fine) 40+ seeds
