Grown by Annapolis Seeds

Growing shallots from seed: Shallots can be grown either from seed or by bulbs. From seed they're grown the same way you would classic onions. Started indoors early (Feb-March), transplanted out after the soil has thawed and harvested as a single bulb late summer. Here's where shallots get interesting! Those bulbs can be replanted either fall (with mulch) or early spring. The following season they'll divide and form beautiful clusters of 3-10 bulbs. Each year replant your biggest and best bulbs, and the cycle can continue indefinitely.

Growing Info
Sowing Start seeds indoors very early (February or March). Seedlings are slow growing when young, so they benefit from an early head start.
Transplant Seedlings can be planted outdoors soon after the soil can be worked. For us that's usually April (depending on the season)
