(Bush Bean) Excellent eaten in the snap stage and also makes a beautiful dry bean (blue jay colours). Originally developed by Russ Crow in Michigan, it was nearly lost before being found and brought back into circulation by Bob Wildfong from Seeds of Diversity. It made its way to me via Andrea Berry of Hope Seeds. Save these seeds and be part of the comeback! 30-50 seeds (15 grams)

Growing Info
Growth type Bush
Sowing and timing I like to direct sow beans. Sow anytime after the risk of frost (for us that's early June). I aim to get all my dry beans planted before the summer solstice (June 21), to ensure they mature in time. Fresh eating beans take less time to mature, and can be planted as late as mid-July.
Spacing 8-12" between plants, 24-36" between rows. Further spacing helps create good air flow, which reduces mold (an issue during wet summers)
Soil Well drained, with medium fertility. Beans will produce more in well amended soil. As legumes they fix nitrogen, and are more tolerant of poor soil than most vegetables are.
Light Full sun is ideal
