Costata Romanesca Zucchini

(C. pepo) This beautiful variety has a dedicated fanbase! Among the most delicious zucchini varieties, I'd rank it on par with Tromboncino as my favourite summer squash. Bushy plants which start fruiting early (mid-July from an early June transplanting). They aren't as overwhelming with their production as some zucchini varieties; a plus or a drawback depending on how much your friends like zucchini. The striped and ribbed fruit can get big quickly, but remain tender with undeveloped seeds when up to 1 foot long. Keep them picked for a continuous harvest. Large blossoms are especially good for stuffing. 20 seeds
