Amaranthus cruentus - Bronze spire blooms atop sturdy plants that reach for the sky. They are as at home in a flower garden or a vegetable garden. This amaranth is grown primarily for the edible and nutritious seed that threshes easily. Add the whole seed to pancakes, muffins, flat breads. Cook as a porridge or grind for flour. The gold veined leaves are a tasty addition to salads, stir-fry or stews when the plant is young. The seeds are enjoyed by wild birds and chickens too. Several hundred seeds (0.75g)
