Filipendula ulmaria - aka Meadwort, Queen of the Meadow. Perennial herb native to Eurasia and naturalized in North America. Thrives in moist soil and alongside streams, ponds and ditches. Attractive green foliage, which is crowned in August by delicate white flowers atop 4’ stalks. Both the leaves and flowers are sweetly fragrant, and have a long history of use in herbal medicine. Cold/moist stratify the seeds for best germination. 100+ seeds

Growing Info
Stratify Cold/moist stratify for 30-60 days prior to sowing. Alternatively, sow them outdoors in the fall for spring germination.
Sowing Indoors early/mid-spring, I start mine in plug trays March or early April
Spacing 18-24" between plants
Soil requirements Moist soil is ideal, although not to the point of standing water. Average garden soil will do just fine.
Harvest Blooming begins in the summer of their 2nd year. Harvest aerial parts for medicine (flowers and leaves)
