Enormous seeds, the biggest we've ever grown for snacking! Big single yellow flowers, atop sturdy 6-8' stalks. I noticed the mature seed heads resisted mold as they dried down in fall, which can be a problem in our climate for large-headed varieties. 40+ seeds

Sowing I like to start our sunflowers indoors in late April, about 4-6 weeks before the last frost. Direct sowing after the risk of frost also works well.
Transplant Outside after the risk of frost. For us that's early June
Soil Well draining, medium to high fertility
