Although a native North American crop, much work has been done in eastern Europe and Russia to breed black oilseed sunflowers for an alternative to olive oil. Peredovik is a heavy cropper of plump black seeds rich in oils. Great for people interested in growing their own oilseeds or wild bird/poultry feed. It is also a gorgeous yellow sunflower. 3-4' tall, with one single large head per plant. Approx. 40 seeds
