Purple Mullein

Verbascum phoeniceum - This ornamental type is quite diminutive compared to other mullein species. Rosettes of broad leaves and short spires of delicate flowers, 2' tall. Not just purple, but pink and white too. Short-lived perennial, hardy to zone 4. Said to be deer-resistant.
