Gobo is the cultivated Japanese form of wild burdock. Grown for their long slender roots, which are delicious as a fall root vegetable. Earthy and richly flavoured, they’re great roasted or in stews. The roots are longer and less twisted than wild burdock (which is also edible and delicious).
Super hardy and easy to grow, direct seed them early spring and watch them grow like a weed! Biennial with large bushy leaves the first year, followed by flowers and seed heads in year two. Roots are best harvested in the fall of their first year. 100+ seeds (2g)
