New for 2026 - Baptisia australis - Native perennial. Their native range includes southern Ontario, southern Quebec and much of the eastern US. Beautiful and hardy plants. Lush green foliage gives way in late spring to 4' spikes of blue flowers. After the flowers fade they develop into round rattly seed pods, which persist into fall. Traditionally used as a blue dye and medicinal. 30+ seeds

Growing Info
Stratification 10 days cold/moist stratification, followed by gentle scarification with light sandpaper. This step simulates the freezing and thawing cycles seeds would experience over winter.
Sowing Start seeds indoors early spring after stratification/scarification. Alternatively, they can be direct sown in fall to naturally stratify and scarify over winter.
Transplant Outdoors after risk of frost
