Uncle David's Dakota Dessert

Back again - C. maxima - This buttercup is right up there among the most delectable winter squash. Silky, sweet and dry (I love a dry squash). With tender skin thin enough to eat. Small seed cavities and thick orange flesh. I didn't find them to be the best keepers, which was okay because they got eaten quickly. Awesome for pies, or baked as a slab they make a delicious side dish. Developed by David Podoll, who selected them for over 40 years in North Dakota. 15 seeds
